WHAT IS VOLUMA?
Voluma® is an injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that rejuvenates the face by restoring youthful volume to the cheeks, cheekbones, and chin. Voluma is the latest generation hyaluronic acid (HA) filler in the Juvederm line of products, which have been safely and successfully providing beautiful results to patients for many years.
Dr. Alexander Rivkin was one of the first physicians in the nation to introduce Voluma to his practice, after the product was approved by the FDA in November of 2013. Since that time, he has treated hundreds of patients with Voluma and has seen tremendous enthusiasm for the product.

THE VOLUMA PROCEDURE
The Voluma treatment typically takes from 15 to 30 minutes to perform. First, Dr. Rivkin will clean the treatment area, and apply a topical cream anesthetic for 15 minutes. After removal of the anesthetic, you will get some ice to chill the area to be injected. This decreases the risk of bruising and discomfort. Dr. Rivkin will then inject Voluma into the treatment site using a very fine needle or cannula.
After the injection, he may massage the area to ensure that the product is properly distributed to provide even and natural results. we will then again apply ice to the treatment area to reduce any potential inflammation and bruising. After the treatment, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately. Any visible side effects, such as bruising, swelling or discoloration, should be minor and can be easily concealed with makeup.
