Non-Surgical Eyelid Treatment
The delicate skin around the eyes is one of the first places to show signs of aging, lost elasticity and volume loss. The tear troughs under the eyes can become pronounced, creating dark circles and bags, making the eyes look old and tired. Facial fillers can be the first defense for non-surgical eyelid treatment, creating more youthful and energetic eyes. At RIVKIN Aesthetics, we offer eyelid and tear trough treatment with filler injections at our center in Los Angeles.
The area under the eyes is one of the first places that are affected by facial volume loss. The naso-jugal groove, or tear trough, is caused by tissue loss from aging, which can result in dark circles. Lost volume and elasticity in the skin can also result in bags under the eyes. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift surgery, can be used to tighten the lower eyelid and remove bags under the eyes, but the procedure is invasive. A non-surgical eyelid treatment with facial fillers can be effective at addressing both tear troughs and eye bags for a rejuvenating effect.
Fillers for Tear Troughs and Eye Bags
Using the right facial fillers can rejuvenate the eyes and diminish tear troughs, eye bags and dark circles. If your eyes and face look tired due to grooves under your eyes or drooping bags, placement of filler can restore volume. Filler injections can replace lost tissue volume that cause tear troughs to form and tighten the skin on the lower eyelids.
Dermal injections for eyelid treatment can be completed in a short visit to our office in Los Angeles. Depending on the filler used, the results can last for a year or more. Tear trough filler treatment can last for years in some cases. We also offer filler injections for upper cheek enhancement that can smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek to help eliminate eye bags.
If you are interested in a non-surgical eyelid treatment or lift procedure, come see us at RIVKIN Aesthetics. We offer expertly placed filler injections to eliminate dark circles, eye bags and tear troughs for our patients in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

Hyaluronic acid filler typically lasts 6-12 months when used on the face, but it can last longer in the tear trough area. If you're unhappy with the results of your tear trough injection, there is an option to dissolve the filler using a safe and effective enzyme called hyaluronidase. It won't harm your normal tissue. It's best to visit your injector for the dissolving procedure since they have knowledge of the specific areas that were injected.

You will see the final results after a full two weeks following the injections. It is common to experience some degree of swelling and occasional bruising, which can contribute to the appearance of lumps, bumps, or uneven distribution. During this period, you can gently massage the area with clean hands, apply ice, and consider taking Arnica to aid in healing.

Vision loss is an extremely rare but serious side effect that can occur immediately during filler injections. In our practice, we have never witnessed vision loss in the 20 years we have been performing filler injections. We often compare the risk of vision loss to that of a plane crash. Although statistically, plane crashes can happen, we still choose to fly because the risks are very small and we trust the expertise of the trained pilot in the cockpit. Similarly, with filler injections, it's crucial to have an experienced and cautious practitioner, whether they are a doctor, a physician assistant, or a nurse, to minimize the risks involved.
